A Reservoir is a structure built for the collection and storage of water. In Azerbaijan, various Reservoirs are used for drinking water, irrigation, and energy production. Reservoirs are considered important infrastructure sites known as "Hydrological Monuments." Water resources are managed in these reservoirs and stored for use during dry periods of the year. Their construction and maintenance are carried out by specialized companies and government agencies. Reservoirs also help to prevent natural disasters and droughts.
