A reservoir is a large structure built for the collection and storage of water. In Azerbaijan, some Reservoirs are preserved and recognized as "hydrological monuments," and are considered significant. Such reservoirs are used to meet the needs of agriculture, drinking water, and industry. Reservoirs also help to prevent flooding and provide water resources for the region. The most well-known reservoirs in Azerbaijan are the Mingachevir, Shamkir, and Yenikand reservoirs. These types of structures ensure the efficient use of the country's water resources.
