A Reservoir is a large artificial pool built to collect and store rainwater or river water. In Azerbaijan, reservoirs are widely used for agriculture, water supply, and hydroelectric power. These facilities are registered as “Hydrological monuments” and have important strategic significance. For example, the Mingachevir Reservoir is one of the largest water reserves in the region and plays a role in supplying water to thousands of people. Reservoirs also help prevent the risk of floods and contribute to environmental protection.
