Artificial Lake is a water reservoir created by humans and is different from a natural lake. These lakes are mainly constructed to store water resources, for agriculture, as well as for irrigation and sometimes tourism purposes. Artificial Lakes, which belong to the category of scenic areas, enhance the beauty of the surrounding regions and provide favorable conditions for recreation. In Azerbaijan, some artificial lakes are also used for fishing and water sports. They offer both ecological and economic benefits to the people living nearby.
