Shusha Fortress was built at the end of the 18th century by the Khan of Karabakh, Panah Ali Khan. This fortress was constructed as a defensive structure and protected the city from enemies. Because it is located in a mountainous area, it was difficult to enter the fortress. It has strong walls and watchtowers. Shusha Fortress is considered one of Azerbaijan's architectural and historical monuments. The fortress still preserves its historical appearance today.
