Telephone Exchange Station used to be telephone booths installed on streets and in public places. Here, people could make local and long-distance calls using cash or a card. Telephone Exchange Stations were especially popular before mobile phones became widely available. In recent years, these stations are used less, since mobile phones are accessible to everyone. However, in some places, old telephone booths still remain and are occasionally used. These services were mainly provided by Azerbaijan’s telecommunications companies.
