Varvara Water Reservoir

Varvara Water Reservoir is one of the hydrological monuments located in Azerbaijan. This reservoir is situated on the Kura River, between the Mingachevir and Upper Karabakh reservoirs. The reservoir is mainly used for electricity generation and irrigation purposes. Varvara Water Reservoir also plays an important role in preventing floods. The hydro-junction located there ensures the regulation and distribution of water to the region. The construction of the reservoir was completed in the 1950s and it is still in operation.
