ADNSU invests in new labs, research projects, and partnerships. This helps the university grow both in Azerbaijan and abroad
Labs and equipment
A renewable energy lab is being built with support from BP. In June 2025, a tender was announced for renovation and equipment. The budget is 580,000 AZN (about 341,000 USD).
In 2022, BP donated a modern publishing center to the university. All equipment worth over 370,000 AZN is already installed.Green energy education
Since June 2022, ADNSU and BP have launched a program on renewable energy. BP invested 2 million USD in it.
Azerbaijan is also investing over 2 billion USD in green energy by 2027. This boosts ADNSU’s development and the region’s scientific potential.Partners and cooperation
BP is a key partner, helping with education and research projects.
Since 2019, Weir Oil & Gas has worked with the university, running seminars, workshops, and internships on oil industry equipment.
ADNSU is expanding ties with other countries. Agreements are signed with universities in Spain (for example, Jaén), China, Turkey, Poland, and others.Regional and international projects
The university takes part in Region Alliance, which supports local communities, new technologies, and entrepreneurs.
ADNSU also works with Europe through Erasmus+, TEMPUS, and other international programs like MAGNUS, UNILAB, WORK4CE, and ELECTRON -
ADNSU cares about the environment — not just in words, but in actions.
The goal is to reach zero carbon emissions by 2040. Right now on campus, there are:
energy-saving lights, insulation, and updated heating and ventilation systems
solar panels
trash sorting, composting, and less waste buying carbon offsetsWhat students do
There’s a student group called SAS. They:
run courses on green energy (EcoPower, Renewable Energy: A Focus on Azerbaijan)
visit solar plants and eco-parks
promote eco-friendly habitsThe university also offers a special program called “Sustainability Education.” It covers ecology, green energy, and safety topics.
Who ADNSU works with
The university cooperates with other schools (like Warwick and UCSI), the Ministry of Energy, and the AREA agency.
Projects include:
a climate forum in 2024 with Times Higher Education and COP29
“Protect the Caspian” campaign — students and teachers cleaned up the Caspian Sea shoreHow it works inside
There is a committee of teachers, staff, and students that trackshow the university applies green practices.
They created a plan together to move forward.
The university also holds webinars, tree planting, cleanups, and offers psychological support for students. What’s already done
1. The campus is cleaner and more energy efficient: solar panels, less waste, more recycling.
2. Learning is connected to real ecology: courses, projects, and international programs.
3. The university takes part in community life: events, student support, and work with government bodies.
Everything inside is organized: there’s a plan, budget, and oversight

ADNSU is growing in several areas at once: updating education, building new labs, expanding ties with foreign
universities, and helping students find jobs.
1. Education and practice
At the end of 2024, a Council for academic programs was created. It includes teachers, UFAZ managers, and representatives from big companies.
They review what and how students learn, suggest new courses, and remove outdated ones. All decisions are approved by the Academic Council. They meet twice each semester.2. Labs and infrastructure
In summer 2025, a tender started to build a new renewable energy lab. BP supports the project. The budget is about 580,000 AZN.
Besides that, the university upgrades buildings by installing solar panels, improving lighting, and organizing waste recycling.Foreign partners
ADNSU cooperates with universities from the UK, Malaysia, Spain, and other countries.1.There are joint master’s programs, exchange programs, and double degrees. For example, UFAZ works with the University of Strasbourg — teaching in French and awarding two diplomas.
2. Environment and green solutions
In spring 2025, the university signed the international CANIE Accord. Now it has its own plan to reduce harmful emissions.
ADNSU stopped working with companies that fund carbon projects. The university also holds eco-forums, including one before COP29, together with Times Higher Education and other groups.Jobs and career
The university has a career center and holds job fairs. Companies like Schlumberger, Deloitte, and Azercell took part.
More than 3,000 students get internships through the center. This helps connect education with real work -
