A Reservoir is an engineering structure built for the collection and storage of large volumes of water. These facilities are mainly used for irrigation, drinking water supply, and electricity generation. In Azerbaijan, several well-known Reservoirs operate in different regions. They play an important role in the management of the country’s water resources and in maintaining the hydrological balance. Reservoirs also allow for the distribution of water according to the seasons. These facilities are included in the category of “Hydrological Monuments.”
